Sundowns are out to blunt Arrows

By Tana Malinga

MAMELODI Sundowns is calling on their supporters to rally behind the team as they take on Lamontville Golden Arrows this afternoon.

Kickoff is at 5pm at Loftus versfeld stadium in Pretoria.

It is Masandawana’s third DStv Premiership match of the 2023/2024 season so far collecting six points and signalling their dominance once again in the current season.

Sundowns are leading the pack with six points while Arrows in fourth position with just four points in the bag.

They have also booked their place in the MTN 8 semifinals, beating Moroka Swallows 1-0 in the quarter finals match which produced fireworks.

Now that they have progressed to the semi’s, they face Kaizer Chiefs who are not doing well but showing signs of improvement. The MTN 8 semifinals will have two legs home and away matches. Dates and venues for the MTN 8 are still to be announced.

The Tshwane giants go into this match today with eight of their players sitting on yellow cards while Arrows only have four, meaning that both teams have to emphasise caution when they face each other to ensure no player gets suspension.

Matches are coming thick and fast and all teams want to collect as many points as they possible as second round of the season seems to be even more tougher.

Rulani Mokwena and his technical team would be very cautious of the dangerman Nox Motiswa.
